ROOBiE Wins Bronze at the Junior Design Awards 2026

ROOBiE has officially won a Junior Design Award.

We’ve been awarded Bronze for Best UK & International Fashion Newcomer at the Junior Design Awards 2026, less than one year after launching.

It still feels slightly surreal to write that.

Aiming high from the beginning

When I started ROOBiE, I searched for the most prestigious award a children’s clothing brand could win. The answer was the Junior Design Awards.

So, aiming high as always, I applied back in April when ROOBiE was only four months old.

At that point, the brand was still incredibly new. Every order, returning customer and kind message felt like a milestone. I knew we would be competing against brilliant emerging childrenswear brands from both the UK and overseas, so simply making the shortlist felt like a win in itself.

To then be awarded Bronze by the Junior Design Awards judging panel is something I’m incredibly proud of.

You can see ROOBiE’s award and the full list of winners on Junior Magazine.

From dressing Reu to an award-winning childrenswear brand

ROOBiE began with a problem I kept running into while dressing my son, Reu. I loved the relaxed, oversized look of Australian childrenswear, but I struggled to find those same styles in the UK in colours that worked together.

I wanted to create a simpler way for parents to dress their little ones: a capsule wardrobe of oversized baby and toddler clothes that could be mixed, matched and worn on repeat.

That idea became ROOBiE.

Our pieces are designed around four core colours, relaxed oversized fits and everyday practicality. Rather than buying one top that only works with one pair of bottoms, parents can build a wardrobe where everything works together. Longer-lasting fits and reversible designs also help families get more wear from every piece.

If Reu wouldn’t wear it, it won’t be sold.

What this Junior Design Award means to us

Winning Bronze for Best UK & International Fashion Newcomer is especially meaningful because ROOBiE has been recognised before reaching its first birthday.

The brand launched on 14 December 2025 after I was made redundant while on maternity leave. I used my redundancy money to fund the first collection, with no idea whether anyone else would connect with the vision in the way I did.

Nine months later, ROOBiE is officially a Junior Design Award-winning children’s clothing brand.

This award recognises more than the clothes themselves. To me, it represents the whole idea behind ROOBiE: making everyday dressing easier, helping parents buy more thoughtfully and creating pieces designed for real children to live in.

Thank you for helping us get here

None of this would have happened without the people who have supported ROOBiE from the beginning.

Thank you to every parent who has placed an order, returned for the next size, recommended us to a friend, shared a photo or stopped to speak to us at a market. Thank you to every little ROOBiE customer who has worn our pieces on ordinary days, big adventures and everything in between.

You’ve helped turn an idea I had while dressing Reu into an award-winning brand, and we’re only just getting started.
